Tamarind Paste

Treasured in Asian cooking for its sour flavour and anti-bacterial properties. Used in curries, tomyum & other sour soups. Usually used with salt to wash seafood to reduce smells.  Makes a delicious sweet sour cordial drink when squeezed in warm water, add minute amount of salt and honey. Can be served warm or cold. Comes in paste form in a jar so it is convenient to use when you do not want any fibrous pulp in your dish.
